A Typological Analysis of Algorithmic Ethics—Based on a “Technology-Ethics” Framework
算法伦理的类型分析—基于“技术 - 伦理”框架

Technological development and ethical needs are the dual driving forces driving ethical research in algorithms. Previous research on algorithmic ethics mainly focused on internal and external approaches. Both have inherent theoretical dilemmas. In fact, the complementarity between algorithmic technology and ethics, as well as the development of technology and ethical needs, can establish a "technology ethics" framework. With the help of this analytical framework, algorithm ethics can be divided into four types: low technology weak ethics, high technology weak ethics, weak technology strong ethics, and high technology strong ethics. These four types not only demonstrate the different stages of development of algorithmic ethics, but also demonstrate the actual evolution process of algorithmic ethics research. Analysis shows that introducing the interaction dimension between technology and ethics can form a beneficial supplement to existing research on algorithmic ethics, and has strong explanatory power for the development of algorithmic ethics. It can provide reference for promoting the development of algorithmic ethics.
