Abstract

Accelerating the construction of a strong agricultural nation requires anchoring the goal of building a world agricultural science center. This study explores the transfer patterns of world agricultural science centers using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, constructs a "state-pressure-response" model to identify factors influencing the formation of world agricultural science centers, and conducts a forward-looking assessment of the development trend of world agricultural science centers through cluster analysis. The results show that: (1) The formation of world agricultural science centers is based on the overall level of science and technology, driven by pressure factors such as the level of agricultural economic development and production conditions, and is a process of increasing agricultural science and technology investment and improving the level of agricultural mechanization as a science and technology response; (2) There is a transfer phenomenon in world agricultural science centers, and multiple centers can exist simultaneously; (3) There are various driving forces that promote the formation of world agricultural science centers, among which agricultural economic pressure and the state of basic science and technology have the most significant impact; (4) Sub-centers of world agricultural science are forming in Asia, and the characteristics of China as a world agricultural science center are becoming increasingly obvious.
